ALBUM REVIEW: LESBIAN VAMPIRES FROM OUTER SPACE

Overall: 4

I consider this the quintessential Scary Bitches album and a must-listen, so it may come as a surprise that I’m not giving it a 5, but I have to take some points off for a couple songs that just aren’t up to the quality of the rest, as well as for the inclusion of a remix of a song that’s already on the album, which is a personal pet peeve.

Abrasiveness: 1

The subject matter and general goofiness might be considered a little abrasive by some people, but the sound definitely isn’t.

Camp: 5

The main strength of the Scary Bitches is their wholehearted commitment to everything they do no matter how silly. All of their albums go extremely hard in this department.

Consistency: 3

The vibe and subject matter are more consistent than in any other Scary Bitches album, but unfortunately, the quality isn’t. This album has some of the Scary Bitches’ best songs (ex: Werewolfe) and some of their weakest (ex: The Hole).

Energy: 4

Overall a very high energy and exciting album with only a couple spots where it flags.
