Hello everyone! It’s been a while, but I’ve got some exciting announcements to make. In the time since I last updated this website, I’ve gotten a lot more involved in the goth scene, and will be making some changes to the site! Here are some of the things I want to do for this new direction:
I’ve gotten a lot more familiar with identifying goth music, so I’m going to change the website to primarily just be about that. I may or may not include a separate page for more general music recs.
Currently, the site focuses on albums. There’s a big problem I’ve run into with that, though: many fantastic goth bands only have singles or EPs out, and they’re the bands that could actually benefit from being written about on a blog. So, I want to figure out a new format for my music rec page that will let me post singles and EPS prominently while still keeping them distinct from full albums so people looking for an album rec can easily find them. I also will likely move to only showcasing 1 album apiece from more famous bands, so they do not clog up my page.
I want to focus more on making reviews of music by small bands! Expect some of those soon. I’ll also be redoing my rating categories - the existing ones aren’t broadly applicable enough.
I’m on the fence, but considering adding a page for fashion, and including pictures of my goth/generally alt outfits and DIY.
I'd kind of like to make a goth zine to distribute at local events, but I don't know if I'll get around to it. If I do, I'll post it here, too.
It's still totally empty, but I have a tumblr that will eventually be a companion to this website, draculadiabola.
